Title: Heartwood: a Novel

This story was about a family and all the drama that happens in a family. The main character in the book has definite ideas about a wife's role in a marriage. As the book goes on she begins to test the limits of her role and search for her own identity and independence.As is true of so many families this family also has its share of secrets. This book was hard to put down. I like the way the characters evolve over time and how the author writes about the characters in the past and the present so you can see how they have grown and developed.
