The second in the Bartlett Brothers series, novel focuses on the life of younger brother Liam Bartlett, now a successful writer living in Boston, five years after his escape from a war-torn South American country. Ana, whom he befriended in that country when she was a 17-year-old revolutionary leader, comes to Boston to attend college and observe American life. Plot covers both their transitions -Ana's, in her struggle to moderate her survival-mode way of life; and Liam's pressing need to come to grips with the PTSD resulting from two years of torture and living hell.
